Frequently Asked Questions

Why does SeaBar have a plastic applicator?

The plastic applicator serves several purposes that make it worth it.

1. Durability. It makes the application process easier and keeps the bar from getting melty in the shower. Plastic is the best material for this purpose because it can withstand the shower's water, heat, and humidity swings.

2. Ingredient Freedom. While other bars have to use a lot of wax or hardeners, since our bar is protected from the elements, it gives us more ingredient freedom to create a better product for your hair.

3. Convenience. Bars are significantly more sustainable than liquid hair products which is why it is so important to make using SeaBar as convenient as possible so that more and more people will make the switch

How long does one bar last?

One SeaBar lasts 2-3 times longer than your average shampoo bottle. Most of our subscription customers receive SeaBar every 4-6 months, but how long it lasts varies depending on usage.

Is it safe for colored hair?

Yes! SeaBar is pH balanced which keeps the hair cuticle closed which prevents the color molecules from escaping and causing the color to fade.

How do you apply it?

We encourage SeaBar users to find the application method that works best for them. We recommend doing a couple swipes directly on to sopping wet hair but you may also apply it to your palms first, chop it up and dilute it to make a liquid product, or dip your finger it to scoop a pea sized amount of product to apply to your hair.

What are the differences in the formulas?

SeaBreeze - Most Moisturizing

SeaFarer - Best for Preventing Hair Loss

SeaTree - Best for Scalp

Each of our products can be used on any hair type. Since the bar is so concentrated, you get full control of how much product you need. For example, someone with dry curly hair will need less shampoo but more conditioner while someone with fine, greasy hair will need more shampoo and less conditioner.
